Akilah Martin

My name Akilah Martin and I am 29 years of age. I hold a Master’s degree in International Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Special, which focuses on the area of Marketing, Human Resources, and Public Sector Management, with Second Class Honours from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. I also hold an Associate Degree in Business Studies from the Barbados Community College. I am currently doing a Certificate in Tourism Management at Bimap that will be completed by April 25th, 2020.

Over the past years, I have been employed at various businesses. Some of these include Furniture Depot/AC woodhouse as a Store/Sales Manager, Donelle’s Enterprises as a Store Manager, The Central Bank of Barbados in the Governor’s office, as a Legal Assistant, and at CGM Gallagher Insurance Brokers, as a Broker’s Assistant in the Claims Department for one year.

As a result of the diversity of jobs I have held, I am equipped with the knowledge and skills to be very useful in any position in the area of marketing, sales, management and customer service. I adapt to new concepts and situations quickly. I am a fluent and articulate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a team player with good work ethics, which are necessary to achieve success in the workplace.
