With A Grateful Heart – This is 20
“A key tip for getting through this life is the acknowledgement that you will never know. You’ll never be able to control the events that occur in and around your life that were never meant for you to control.”
You never know when it will end. This journey of life is fragile and brief.
In the blink of an eye or the snap of a finger, it could all be over.
It’s more important now than ever, to be thankful!
For weeks I have been wrestling with just how to say what I want in this post; understanding just how to tell you all the importance of a grateful heart.
Let us recap…
We have heard about an imminent World War III, Australia’s beautiful forests and unique species were engulfed in flames, the death of an NBA legend, his young daughter and other victims on board, toppled with the off the headline issues. On the home front, I was stunned by the reckless shootings that stole lives on my little island Barbados and women suffering and dying at the hands of men in Jamaica.
The world now grapples with the COVID-19 virus that continues to test the strength and resources of countries and their citizens. Everything has been put on a standstill and life as we knew it can never be the same.
But yet…it’s only April!
I remember the New Year’s Day countdown, when we all hoped the new decade would be monumental but…what is really happening now???? It feels like the past four months have been an entire year and we’re so uncertain of how the next eight months will be.
A key tip for getting through this life is the acknowledgement that you will never know. You’ll never be able to control the events that occur in and around your life that were never meant for you to control. As they happen, they ought to put you in perspective and make you spend every waking moment being thankful.
No one is supposed to wake up every morning, that’s why we all don’t. No one is supposed to reach his or her destination safely every day, that’s why we all don’t. No one is entitled to anything in this life, please realize that you aren’t.
Gratitude is a must is more than just the lyrics of a hit song, it’s a fact that you have to be thankful.
Be thankful when your eyes open
Be thankful when your feet move
Be thankful that you do not live in a war zone or have to be evacuated from a fire
Be thankful to hear your loved ones
Be thankful to be safe in your homes
Be thankful you got back home
One sure thing in this life is that you will never know…
